Planning a late-October visit to Daedunsan raises two early questions: can you reserve the cable car, and which opening time applies to your date? A general hours notice and a seasonal first-departure calendar answer different parts of that problem.

A round-trip ticket also differs from a one-way ticket, particularly if you plan to continue toward steep stairs or a suspension bridge. The operator’s fare table and 2026 fall notice provide a clearer starting point than a scenic photograph.

This guide covers Daedunsan cable car tickets in Unju-myeon, Wanju. Prices and ticket conditions were checked on the official site on October 13, 2026. Weather and operating arrangements can change.

Operating arrangements can change. Check the official visitor information before traveling.

The operator’s official visitor information states that tickets are sold on site, in order, on the day of the ride. Advance reservations are not available. Daedunsan cable car tickets should therefore not be planned as a timed online seat booking.

The stated base departure interval is 20 minutes, with more frequent operation possible depending on the waiting crowd. That is a service interval, not a guaranteed 20-minute wait. Current queues and waiting times were not verified.

The regular fare table lists the following amounts in Korean won. The page checked here does not define the child age range, so no age cutoff has been added.

  • Adult round trip: ₩16,500
  • Child round trip: ₩13,000
  • Adult one way: ₩13,500
  • Child one way: ₩11,000

Two adult round-trip tickets total ₩33,000. Two adult one-way tickets total ₩27,000, but these are different travel choices, not the same outing at different prices. The official table below separates the two ticket types.

Late-October first departures

The 2026 fall timetable posted on September 29 gives a date-specific first departure. October 27 falls within the October 26–30 weekday period.

  • October 24–25: 8:00 a.m.
  • October 26–30: 8:40 a.m.
  • October 31–November 1: 8:00 a.m.

This is a first-departure calendar. It does not give a complete daily schedule or guarantee that service will run on every date. It is also not a foliage forecast. Keep the seasonal calendar separate from the general 9:00 a.m. information on the homepage.

General closing time and weather interruptions

The general homepage gives a 5:50 p.m. closing time on weekdays and weekends, with ticket sales ending 20 minutes earlier. Applied as written, that means 5:30 p.m. The fall notice only lists first departures, so no separate seasonal last ride has been inferred.

The operator warns that strong winds or lightning can end service early. A dated “normal operation” banner is not an observation that cabins are moving at the moment you read it. For a same-day update, the published contact is +82-63-263-6621–2.

The terrain beyond the cable-car ride

A cable-car ticket does not remove the changes in elevation beyond the station. The photographs show bridges above the valley and steep stairs between rocks. Viewing the landscape from the upper area differs from continuing onto a longer mountain route.

The confirmed planning details are the regular prices, walk-up sales and date-specific first departures. Actual operation and permitted routes remain questions for the travel day. Explore Daedunsan’s rock peaks, bridges and stairs to see the terrain before choosing the scope of your outing.
