Hwadam Forest Reservation: Booking, Monorail and Cancellations
A practical guide to Hwadam Forest booking, monorail fares and cancellation rules, checked against official information on September 14, 2026.

We checked Hwadam Forest’s NOL booking steps, monorail fares by section, cancellation availability and fall refund rules against the official guidance.
Do you have to buy Hwadam Forest admission and a monorail ride together? Once you select a date, the sections, prices and departure times can make the checkout screen harder to navigate than expected.
For some peak-season products, payment must be completed within 15 minutes of opening the product page. If the timer expires, your selections reset and you may have to join the queue again. There is no officially fixed time when canceled tickets reappear.
We compared the reservation instructions with the FAQ. Secure admission first, then add only the monorail section you need. That makes it easier to avoid changing your choice midway through checkout.
There is no official basis for claims that canceled tickets are released at midnight or another fixed time. Do not count on buying a monorail ticket on arrival: on-site sales depend on remaining inventory.
Online Booking
Opening hours and closed days can change by month. Check Hwadam Forest’s current operating notice for your exact visit date instead of relying on a general timetable.
- Open NOL from the Hwadam Forest website
- Sign in to NOL or create an account
- Choose your visit date, time and ticket type
- Add Hwadamchae and a monorail ride only if needed
- Check your mobile admission ticket
Monorail Sections and Fares
Monorail trips departing from Station 1 can be reserved online. You cannot get off and board again midway. A missed departure due to arriving late is generally not refundable.
Section | Adult / senior / teenager | Child | Approximate ride |
|---|---|---|---|
Station 1 to 2 | ₩5,000 | ₩4,000 | 5 minutes |
Station 1 to 3 | ₩7,000 | ₩6,000 | 10 minutes |
Full loop | ₩9,000 | ₩7,000 | 20 minutes |
Cancellation Tickets and Fall Color
The most reliable way to look for cancellations is to check remaining inventory on the NOL booking screen or Hwadam Forest’s official site. Tickets at the gate are never guaranteed.
Admission is fully refundable when canceled before the visit day. For a monorail ticket canceled up to two hours before the same-day departure, the official FAQ lists a 30% fee; later cancellation carries a 100% fee. Check the terms shown for your purchase before paying.
The official fall season runs through October and November, but peak color depends on the weather. Hwadam Forest’s current-conditions page and monthly notices are better guides than a fixed prediction.
Set up your NOL account and decide how many people are going and which monorail section you want before peak-season booking opens. That preparation helps when the 15-minute checkout limit applies. For a sense of the visit itself, explore our Hwadam Forest gardens story.
